WSJ Pro Private Equity reports on continuation fund backing Indian Stock Exchange
WSJ Pro Private Equity writes that ChrysCapital has closed a continuation fund to transfer a stake in the National Stock Exchange of India, the country’s leading stock exchange and the world’s largest derivatives exchange. LGT Capital Partners acted as one of the anchor investors and co-led the structuring of the deal.
The continuation fund was significantly oversubscribed with more than USD 1.4 billion invested. The transaction is one of the largest of its kind in the Asia Pacific region.
The media outlet highlights the fact that continuation funds have surged in popularity in recent years as private equity managers look for alternatives to traditional investment exits such as selling or publicly listing their portfolio companies.
