11 April 2024

Private Equity News has recently revealed 2024’s “Twenty Most Influential in ESG”, which features Tycho Sneyers, Managing Partner at LGT Capital Partners, for the second year in a row. Tycho joined LGT Capital Partners in 2001 and has spearheaded the firm’s ESG efforts since 2002. He is the first and only private equity executive ever elected to the Board of Directors of the United Nations-sponsored Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).

Private Equity News highlights that Tycho was first elected to the PRI board in 2018 and has recently embarked on his third term. Under Tycho’s leadership, LGT Capital Partners has classified all its new private equity funds as Article 8 or 9 under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. He also guided the development of the firm’s ESG analytics tools, combining data sets from multiple sources to create reliable ESG assessments.

Tycho said: “LGT Capital Partners made ESG an integral part of the private equity investment process more than two decades ago. Over the years, we have engaged with hundreds of private equity firms to strengthen their ESG implementation. Today, we appreciate the recognition we are receiving, and we look forward to continuing to contribute to ESG best practices.”

The list, which ran for the first time in 2023, was carefully selected by Private Equity News’ editorial panel. The criteria for inclusion comprised of the nominees’ impact on their business area, leadership within the sector, performance over the past year and their capacity to shape their business and the industry over the year ahead, particularly with respect to ESG.
