LGT Capital Partners raises EUR 850 million for Crown Europe Small Buyouts VII, exceeding EUR 800 million target

The oversubscribed fund continues LGT Capital Partners’ longstanding strategy on providing access to the European small buyout market.

Pfaeffikon, 28 August 2026. With CESB VII, LGT Capital Partners is continuing its longstanding strategy of investing in European small buyout funds and emerging managers. This strategy aims to provide exposure to access-constrained primary funds, secondaries and co-investments, leveraging the firm’s global platform and deep relationships within the European private equity ecosystem.

CESB VII generated demand from both existing and new investors, including pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations and family offices from North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The oversubscribed fundraise underscores investor interest in this differentiated segment of the European buyouts market.

Cem Meric, Partner at LGT Capital Partners, said: “We are grateful for the continued trust of our investors. CESB VII reflects our longstanding conviction that Europe’s small buyout market offers attractive opportunities for investors able to access specialist managers early and selectively. Our platform, relationships and experience across cycles remain central to identifying these opportunities.”

Dominic Abt, Principal at LGT Capital Partners, added: “The European small buyout market remains highly fragmented, while growing mid-market dry powder continues to support exit opportunities for smaller companies. Combined with more conservative entry valuations and an increasing number of emerging managers and spinouts, this creates an attractive environment for active deal-making.”

LGT Capital Partners has a long history of investing in European small buyout funds, with almost EUR 30 billion committed across primary, secondary and co-investment transactions since 1998. The long-tenured team comprises more than 70 investment professionals in Europe from 20 different
nationalities.
