LGT Capital Partners publishes its TCFD Report 2023

13 May 2024

LGT Capital Partners has issued its TCFD Report 2023, demonstrating its commitment to climate action and ESG integration in its investment strategies and practices. The publication contains important climate-related information about the firm’s investment approach and operations and outlines its efforts to comply with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

The new TCFD Report discusses LGT Capital Partners’ efforts to integrate climate considerations into its overall strategy, investment practices, risk management processes and decision-making frameworks. In particular, it underscores the firm’s commitment to reducing the carbon intensity of the assets it invests in on behalf of clients and to reaching net zero by 2050 or sooner. The report also highlights the progress it made in 2023, including becoming a signatory to the Net Zero Engagement Initiative.

To meet its climate-related targets, LGT Capital Partners has developed a comprehensive Climate Action Framework that focuses on two main objectives: Driving the energy transition and decarbonization and building a climate-resilient portfolio. This framework has four main levers – carbon budgeting, climate solutions, active ownership and reallocating capital – to help realize these objectives. The publication also discusses the robust and effective sustainability-related governance structures implemented in 2023.

The TCFD Report provides information about all of LGT Capital Partners’ climate-related measures and ambitions. It also emphasizes the firm’s desire to actively engage with its stakeholders to foster a shared understanding of climate risks and opportunities and to work together to create sustainable solutions and build a more resilient global financial system.
