LGT Capital Partners Insights whitepaper on aligning multi-asset portfolios with net zero
LGT Capital Partners has released a new edition of its Insights series in which it shares lessons learned from five years of implementing a firm-wide framework to align multi-asset portfolios with the global net zero pathway by 2050.
The new whitepaper outlines how institutional investors can translate long-term climate objectives into portfolio action. The framework presented in the publication is built around four levers – carbon budgeting, climate solutions, active ownership and the reallocation of capital – that collectively drive measurable decarbonization while maintaining investment flexibility across asset classes.
The paper focuses on the LGT Endowment, a USD 20 billion globally diversified multi asset strategy that has achieved a 42.7% reduction in portfolio emissions intensity since the initial commitment in early 2021. This reflects its significant progress towards net zero while maintaining the portfolio’s long-term investment objectives.
A video interview with Hanna Edström, Co-Head ESG and Impact and Stephan Kind, Head Liquid Markets and Member of the Executive Committee, accompanies the publication, highlighting the firm’s pathway towards net zero and the lessons learned along the way.
