LGT Capital Partners expands its semi-liquid open-ended solutions with two private equity and private credit vehicles

8 August 2024

Investors have the ability to invest efficiently into LGT Capital Partners’ fully-funded structures alongside the LGT Endowment, the firm’s principal evergreen portfolio.

LGT Capital Partners announced having raised over USD 2.0 billion in assets for two of its semi-liquid open-ended investment vehicles. The structures provide institutional investors and wealth management clients access to fully-funded private markets strategies and offer regular liquidity. They leverage LGT Capital Partners’ 25 years of experience in managing evergreen strategies through the LGT Endowment, the firm’s principal investment portfolio launched in 1998.

The open-ended private equity strategy invests through diversified portfolios of secondaries and co-investments. The portfolio has been built up over the last two years, investing after recent private equity market peaks, and today has over 750 underlying portfolio companies. The strategy benefits from the firm’s investment relationships with over 700 private equity sponsors globally.

The private credit strategy invests through a combination of yield-oriented and opportunistic credit, through both corporate and asset-backed strategies. The dedicated credit team benefits from the ability to source investment opportunities from the firm’s broader platform. The multi-strategy offering has a flexible approach to seeking attractive risk-adjusted returns across the credit spectrum.

LGT Capital Partners manages over USD 70 billion in private markets assets, with a global team of over 350 private markets professionals and 15 offices in Europe, the US and Asia. Its private equity and private credit strategies leverage the firm’s scale and global reach.

Sascha Gruber, Partner at LGT Capital Partners, commented: “We are pleased to be able to offer our private markets platform to a wider range of clients through open-ended fund structures. They provide increased flexibility with efficient fee structures and address some of the key challenges of investing in these asset classes. We see growing demand for private markets globally and have launched these funds to improve the accessibility of these asset classes to potential investors. These solutions not only allow investors to benefit from our global private markets platform but also from our 25 years of experience in managing the LGT Endowment.”
