LGT Capital Partners co-leads closing of EMK’s single-asset continuation fund to support VDK Groep’s next phase of growth
LGT Capital Partners acted as co-lead investor for the closing of EMK’s single-asset continuation fund at a hard cap of EUR 1.25 billion. The vehicle will invest in VDK Groep, a leading provider of technical installation services across the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Sweden.
The transaction will provide significant follow-on capital to support the continued execution of VDK Groep’s growth strategy and acquisition pipeline. Headquartered in Zwolle in the Netherlands, VDK Groep owns 150 installation companies and employs 7,000 specialists. They offer services in the areas of building intelligence, climate control, electrical engineering, infrastructure engineering and security systems. VDK Groep is at the forefront of the highly technical work required to ensure the sustainability of some of Europe’s most critical infrastructure.
EMK has supported VDK Groep’s European expansion strategy since 2020, executing 103 add-on acquisitions and growing the company from around EUR 5 million of EBITDA at the time of the acquisition to around EUR 319 million pro-forma LTM EBITDA as of June 2026. During this period, VDK Groep has approximately doubled its EBITDA margin and improved its EBITDA cash conversion from around 70% to around 100%. In February 2026, VDK completed the acquisition of the Builtech Group, a rapidly growing, leading technical installation services platform, greatly enhancing its presence in the German market.
Tommaso Crackett, Principal at LGT Capital Partners, commented: “We have backed EMK since the firm’s inception and are pleased to partner with them once again to access one of their quality assets. VDK Groep is a compelling example of what a well-executed buy-and-build strategy can achieve, when strong financial growth is paired with building a distinctive corporate culture. The ability to invest in companies with clear vision and purpose is one of the key tenets of our single-asset solutions strategy.”
Edmund Lazarus and Mark Joseph, Managing Partners at EMK Capital, said: “As VDK Groep continues to deliver transformational growth under EMK’s ownership, we are pleased to deepen EMK’s long-standing partnership with LGT Capital Partners across multiple funds. LGT Capital Partners’ continued support reflects our shared conviction in the significant further value that can be created through the continued execution of VDK Groep’s buy-and-build strategy.”
Since 2015, LGT Capital Partners has completed more than 100 single-asset liquidity transactions across different transaction types, partnering with private equity sponsors to provide tailored capital solutions that enable liquidity and support long-term value creation. The investment in EMK’s single-asset continuation fund exemplifies this strategy and reinforces the firm’s position as a global partner for private equity managers and their portfolio companies, providing flexible and innovative solutions to enhance their value creation potential.
