Jetro Siekkinen discusses growing investor interest in emerging and frontier market debt with Reuters
In a conversation with the news agency, Jetro Siekkinen, Partner at LGT Capital Partners, explains that while fundamentals in the developed world are weakening, many emerging and frontier markets are in a better position, both structurally and economically. He believes that alongside strong fundamentals, the increasing desire among investors to diversify away from US assets and the US dollar is driving renewed interest in the asset class.
Jetro highlights that LGT Capital Partners is highly selective when investing in emerging and frontier market debt and does not follow any benchmarks. He explains that his team covers about 30 emerging markets and 140 frontier markets but only invests in the countries that are best positioned to generate sustainable economic growth.
