Doug Coulter speaks to DealStreet Asia about market conditions and LP sentiment in Asia

In an interview with DealStreet Asia, Doug Coulter, Partner at LGT Capital Partners, discussed the ongoing recovery of Asia’s private equity markets and shifting LP sentiment, noting that stronger conditions in Hong Kong and India are proving supportive but a full rebound has yet to materialize.
Doug emphasized that 2026 could be a pivotal year, with more than 300 companies preparing for potential Hong Kong IPOs. He also highlighted the selective nature of fundraising, the renewed importance of cash flow yield as well as attractive opportunities emerging in Asian secondaries − particularly in China, where high‑quality assets are trading at meaningful discounts.
